Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DCE) is one of the founding departments of the UCC School of Sustainable Engineering (SSE). The department was established at the beginning of the 2023/2024 academic year with the enrolment of twenty-two (22) undergraduate students into the Bachelor of Science in Water and Public Health Engineering programme and four (4) postgraduate students enrolled into the PhD Coastal Engineering programme. Prior to the establishment of the SSE, the DCE existed as the Department of Water and Sanitation under the School of Physical Sciences where it run the Bachelor Science programme in Water and Sanitation.

To produce high quality manpower and critical knowledge for sustainable civil and environmental engineering services in Ghana and beyond through problem-oriented curricula, innovative research and strategic collaborations and partnerships.

To be a centre of academic excellence in Civil and Environmental Engineering studies.
